Dropshipping 'passive store' courses

Verdict: Fog — a real store model wrapped in a false clock

The pitch: The pitch: a store that sells while you sleep, built in a weekend, from products you never touch.

Dropshipping itself is a real retail model with real, thin margins: you pay for ads to send strangers to a product someone else ships. What the courses sell is the clock — 'passive' — because the truth (daily ad testing, chargebacks and returns handling, dead products) is a job, not a nap.

The math the pitch skips: if the product costs $8, ships for $4, sells for $24.99, and ads cost $11 per sale — a normal figure — you keep about $2 before returns, chargebacks, and platform fees. The store is not fake. The margin is just spoken in a whisper.

The tells — spot them in any offer

  • Revenue screenshots with no ad-spend line
  • 'Passive' attached to anything involving ad accounts
  • The course costs more than the store ever will

The honest alternative

If retail calls to you, resale on eBay, Poshmark, or Mercari is the version with published fees and no ad auction. Run those numbers first.
