The quit line: permission, with math
The verdict
The forums' floor is $15–$20 an hour. Under your floor after a fair trial, quitting is a decision, not a defeat.
In the monthly-audit threads, experienced hustlers repeat a rule: pick a floor — many use $15–$20 an hour — run the hustle for a fair trial with honest logging, and give yourself permission to pivot or quit if the real number stays under the floor. The permission matters; sunk cost keeps more people poor than bad fees do.
A fair trial is not one bad Tuesday. It is three to four weeks, all hours logged, the checker run on the real totals. Under the floor at that point means one of three things: the hustle is wrong for your constraints (refit), the market is wrong (change zones or platforms), or the price is wrong (raise it and lose the wrong customers).
Quitting a $6-an-hour hustle to free ten hours for a $16-an-hour one is the most profitable decision in this entire field. The math gives you the standing to make it.
The math, shown
- Floor (community standard): $15–$20/hr
- Trial: 3–4 weeks, all hours logged
- Under floor after trial → refit, reprice, or quit
